As a group the Lib Dem Councillors in Charnwood suffered from a strong national swing against the party.

It is a great shame  that hard working Councillors have lost seats, and we have no confidence that those who did win the seats that we represented will be able to make the level of contribution that we made.

However John Sutherington retained his seat in Anstey, and is to be congratulated  that his win is the result of  total dedication to the welfare of Anstey and of Charnwood as a whole. John is a worthy upholder of the Lib Dem tradition until we come back in greater numbers at the next election.
